Utah Becomes The Second State
To Place Ross Perot On November Ballots

Salt Lake City, UT - Utah Perot for President Chairman Robert Campbell will announce to supporters and the media that Utah will become the second state to officially place H. Ross Perot on the ballot as a presidential candidate. Campbell's announcement will come during a rally for Perot supporters scheduled for the Utah State Capitel Rotunda at 2:00 pm MDT on Thursday, April 30th.

As most Americans know by now, Texas businessman Ross Perot extended a challenge to supporters in March on CNN's Larry King Live. He offered to run for president, but only if his backers qualified him as a candidate in all fifty states.

A growing wave of anti-incumbent sentiment is pushing Americans to sign Perot petitions from coast to coast. The outspoken Texan's pragmatic answers to interviewers' questions are drawing strong support from a broad spectrum of disillusioned voters.

In his opening remarks, Utah Perot Chairman Robert Campbell will extend "a special welcome to those who have been disenchanted by recent elections." Campbell will close the rally by thanking the hundreds of volunteers who collected over 8,000 signatures in 18 days - more that 25 times the 300 required by Utah law.

Group interviews with Utah Perot far President leaders and volunteers will be available following the rally from about 2:45 to 3:15 pm MDT.

TEXAS (MAY 11)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WE THE PEOPLE

(Austin, TX) - The Texas Perot petition volunteers have accomplished a truly monumental task. Many more than the required number of signatures have been collected on petitions in Texas to place Ross Perot on the ballot for the office of President of the United States.

On Monday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m. the signed petitions will be formally presented to the Secretary of State, John Hannah, Jr., at a rally at the State Capitol. Ross Perot will express his appreciation for the outstanding efforts of the Texas volunteers.

All volunteers are invited to participate in a parade which will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Republic Square, Fifth and Guadalupe Streets, and process to the south capitol grounds.

"I didn't think this would happen because I thought the process was too complicated," Perot said in a recent interview. "But they're making it happen. It looks like they will do it..."

In Texas, the requirements included 54,275 signatures of registered voters who did not vote in the March 10 primary election.

Perot stated in a February 20 interview with CNN's Larry King that he would run for President of the United States if the American people, at the grass roots level, placed his name on the ballot in all 50 states. He has already qualified in two states, Tennessee and Utah. In every state where allowed, volunteers are working to gather signatures.

The validation process in Texas should be completed within four weeks.

FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE 5/16/92

Volunteers in the petition effort to put Ross Perot on Alaska's ballot as a Presidential Candidate will be turning in approximately five times the required number of signatures at a rally this Thursday, May 21, in the Pioneer Room at the Carlson Community Center in Fairbanks. Donna Gilbert, State Coordinator, will turn the petitions over to Lt. Governor Jack Coghill at Noon, so that interested Perot supporters can attend on their lunch hours.

Two representatives of the Texas-based Perot Petition Committee will be flying in for the presentation. They are Darcy Anderson, Western States Coordinator, and Tamara Hardy, North Western Regional Coordinator.

This may well be an historic event - following in the wake of the grassroots rebellion that put Wally Hickle in the Governor's office in Juneau, Ross Perot could well become the first independent candidate for President chosen by the voters of Alaska. Everyone frorn Nome, to Anchorage, to Ketchikan (particularly those who signed a petition or circulated one) is invited to attend and help celebrate at noon Thursday at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.

Perot bumper stickers and pins will be available at the Rally, as well as sorne information sheets on Ross Perot and his views. A video tape of several TV programs featuring Mr. Perot will be shown after the presentation, for those who are interested. As for Mr. Perot's positions on ANWR and Gun Control, an audio tape of a recent local talk show interview on those subjects will be available as well. Those wishing to volunteer to help in the up-coming Presidential campaign will have an opportunity to sign up at the Rally.

Alaska election law requires 2002 signatures, which were easily collected in only three weeks. When petition organizers attempted to end the drive and submit the names, protests from people all over Alaska, who had been unable to locate a petition to sign quickly enough, postponed the turn in for over a month. The group expects to be turning in approximately 10,000 May 21, which is seen as just one indication of the tremendous support for Ross Perot in the state of Alaska.

ROSS PEROT TO VISIT KENTUCKY--SPEAK AT RALLY IN FRANKFORT

The Kentuckians for Perot organization announced today in a press conference that Ross Perot will visit Frankfort, Thursday May 21 and address a rally on the Capitol steps at 11:00 am EDT.

The rally is being held in conjunction with the presentation of Perot petitions to the Secretary of State's office in Frankfort. According to Charlie Hellebusch, State Coordinator, more than 30,000 signatures have been collected to date. The state requires 5,000 signatures from amongst registered voters in order to place an independent candidate's name on the presidential ballot in November. The Secretary of State's office will confirm a position for Perot on Kentucky's ballot within 24 hours of receipt of the petitions.

Hellebusch could not confirm where or at what time Perot's plane would land in the Commonwealth, but said that Perot would address the people of Kentucky in appreciation for their show of support for his potential candidacy.

Motorcades are being organized by Perot supporters throughout the state of Kentucky to provide Perot supporters with transportation to the rally in Frankfort. According to officials in Ohio and Indiana, motorcades are being organized from Cincinnati, Dayton, Evansville, southern Indiana and Indianapolis. State officials in W. Virginia and Tennessee have also been contacted.

"We're looking forward to giving Mr. Perot a warm Kentucky welcome on Thursday. With the recent Time Magazine/CNN nationwide poll showing Mr. Perot leading both Bush and Clinton, we hope to demonstrate to Mr. Perot a very strong show of support," Hellebusch said.

ROSS PEROT TO ATTEND RALLY IN HARTFORD
VOLUNTEERS COLLECT OVER 10 TIMES
THE SIGNATURES REQUIRED TO GET
HIM ON THE BALLOT

HARTFORD, CT JUNE 16 - With a requirement to collect 14,620 signatures by August 12, 1992, the Connecticut Perot Petition Committee will host Ross Perot at a rally in Hartford commencing at 11: 00am June 25 to present well over 10 times the number of required signatures to Mr. Perot and the Secretary of State, Ms. Pauline Kezar.

"The enormous interest in getting Mr. Perot on the ballet is not confined to Connecticut" stated Dennis Shrauger, Co-chairperson of the Committee. "However, we believe we have collected a higher percentage of registered voters than any other state", he added.

The final push to roll up the total of signatures collected will take place on 20 June when over 3,000 petition passers will be on the street in cities and towns throughout Connecticut in an all out petition signing blitz.

"The rally and acceptance of the petitions by Mr. Perot and the Secretary of State of Connecticut will mark the end of the petition process and the start of the campaign." said David Kaufman, the Committee's other Co-chairman.

Connecticut is the 15th state to get Mr. Perot on the ballot, with efforts to get him on the ballot in all remaining states continuing at this time. While Mr. Perot initially stated that he will declare his candidacy if grass roots volunteers get him on the ballot in all fifty states, indications are that he will declare his candidacy prior to that time.
